The tool below was brought to a show TATHS Anglia Group attended in Suffolk and the owner, Toby Miller, would be very interested to know it's purpose. The two revolving rollers are opened by means of pressure on the handles and are held in the closed position by a very strong spring. When closed the rollers do not quite meet. A piece of card or leather pulled through the rollers receives a series of indented lines from the markings on the rollers. The tool has War Dept markings and a date of 1940. There is a thought that it may have a use on webbing and possibly connected with parachutes. Can anyone provide a definite answer please?
