Joining online
The simplest and quickest way to join TATHS is to sign up online, and pay using PayPal or any payment card. This works in almost any currency and for almost all countries.
Please use this method if you are joining and paying for yourself. For membership as a gift for someone else, please email the membership secretary.
The paper alternative
We realise that not everyone likes to do things online so we can still process applications on paper. (We regret that we cannot handle membership enquiries by phone - we are a society run by volunteers and have no office or staff.)
If you want to apply by post, or help someone else to do so, you can download a membership application form as a PDF file.
Print it out, fill it in and send it with your payment to:

Gift Aid
Gift Aid is a scheme for UK taxpayers whereby charitable bodies such as TATHS can reclaim tax on subscriptions or donations. By opting in, you can help the society at no extra cost to yourself. Our forms allow you to choose to make your current subscription and any future ones eligible for the scheme. By ticking the Gift Aid box, you confirm that
you have paid or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year (6 April to 5 April) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs(CASCs) that you donate to will reclaim on my gifts for that tax year,
and that
you understand that other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify.
Membership List and Special Interests
In order to help members find other members we publish - to members only - a list of who the other members are. To make it more useful, we invite you to list any aspects of tools and trades which particularly appeal to you. These will be listed alongside your entry in the members list.
If you don't want to appear in the list, you can choose not to share your name with others.
We also want to give your name and postal/email address to the organiser of your local group, so you can be invited along to meetings, but again, if you want to opt out of this, you can.
To change any of these decisions at any time, contact the Membership Secretary.
Buying membership as a present
You can buy membership as a present for someone else. If you want to do this, please email the Membership Secretary and explain, so we can be completely clear about which address and email belong to you and which to the lucky recipient.
