TATHS has to have certain role holders to continue as a Registered Charity or even to exist at all.  We need a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer to keep going.  We have captured a Chairman for now and have a Treasurer until March 2018 but the Secretary has escaped after 3 years in the role and 7 years on the Committee. We need someone to take over from me as soon as possible. Like you, I have a family life and it needs attention.

Without doubt the Secretary role is the most interesting and rewarding in TATHS but it does need a bit of time investing to reap the rewards. There is a full job description of the role on the TATHS website (here) but basically it involves arranging meetings, preparing Agendas and writing the minutes.  Other than that it involves dealing with any incoming letters and emails from members and the public.  There are usually about 3 meetings a year plus the AGM. Correspondence averages no more than one email or letter a week. There are records of committee members, Charity Commission Reports and Meetings that need to be maintained. Access to e-mail and to a word processing programme is essential.

If you can read, write and email and have an hour or two a week to spare you could do the job.

Why should you volunteer?

Well, if you have the ability and want TATHS to continue to survive then

Why the hell not??
