On Saturday 3 June Richard Arnold opened his workshop once again to facilitate another event to raise funds for the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity.

Richard has a joinery just outside Market Harborough and as well as organising an online auction for donated items he also set up displays and demonstrations for those interested members of the public that wished to attend. Those that did attend were able to see displays of antique woodworking and other trade tools plus a chance to have a try at using the recent planes that he has made based upon 18th century designs. Many visitors brought along tools to donate too, and these could be bought for suitable donations. Others demonstrating and displaying included Bill Carter, Ollie Sparks and Shane Skelton, showing contemporary planes and saws. An excellent event to have attended and one that shows that the appreciation of hand tools is very much alive and kicking.
